From abuse and painful dysfunction, each has ventured out to create as much distance from their past as possible. Tony has found his niche as a drag queen, Justin, a would-be pimp if his gambling were more successful and the isolated, youngest daughter, Charlotte, a caretaker too distracted by family memories to create a life of her own. The main obstacle is the matriarch, Bertha, whose vindictive and controlling behavior continues to stifle any hope for relationships among her children. A story of forgiveness, Bertha's reasons for family destruction are revealed in a pivotal, rare moment of vulnerability. Playwright Ed Miller based Make it So on his own upbringing in Memphis, Tennessee. Under the direction of Sharon Fogarty, this family drama in two acts is a lively tale of humor and intimacy.
